David Richard Vayder was born on Jan. 1, 1936, to George and Anna (Baran) Vayder in Minneapolis. He left us on April 26, 2013. John B. Edling, 81, St. Croix Falls died Friday, April 26, at the Christian Community Home in Osceola. Marilyn J. (Anderson) Erickson, 74, passed away at her home Jan. 2, 2013, in New Port Richey, Fla. Coastal Cremations Inc., New Port Richey, Fla., were entrusted with the arrangements.

Jackie Bie Swaim, 49, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, in Grantsburg at the Burnett Medical Center after a three-year battle with cancer. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 30, at Faith Lutheran Church in Grantsburg. She will be laid to rest at the Trade Lake Swedish Mission Church cemetery in Trade Lake during a private family burial. Arrangements were entrusted to the Edling Funeral Home in Grantsburg.

Michael W. Wegner, 65, of Osceola, also known as Michael J. “Donuts” Douglas of radio fame, died suddenly Wednesday, April 24, at Osceola Medical Center. There was a memorial gathering on Sunday, April 28, at the Grandstrand Funeral Home, Osceola. grandstrandfh.com.

There will be a graveside funeral for Kenneth Hansen (formerly of Frederic) on Monday, May 6, 2:30 p.m., at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Frederic. At this time the ashes of his wife, Marie (Johnson) Hansen, will be buried. Ken's parents were Herman and Dagney Hansen and his brothers are Rog and Earl Hansen.

Anne-Marie G. Pedersen, 91, of Osceola, passed away April 20, 2013. She is survived by sister Frances Mahnken of Sarasota, Fla.; and sons, Richard A. Pedersen of Osceola, and David J. Pedersen of Osceola.

Earl Francis Strub, 81, of Grantsburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in Harlingen, Texas.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., with visitation 10-11 a.m., Saturday, May 4, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Grantsburg. Frances Regina Peterson Hanson, age 95, of Superior, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 24, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth following almost two years of loving care at the Encompass Healthcare of Superior. Downs Funeral Home of Superior handled the arrangements. There was a visitation in Superior and also in the Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewis, with a service that followed on Saturday, April 27.  The Rev. Glenn Johnson of Superior officiated with interment at the Lewis Cemetery.

Ruth Evelyn (Danielson) Berg, 98, went home to God on April 25, 2013. Ruth was born in Minneapolis on April 19, 1915. Funeral services were held Monday, April 29, at Methven-Taylor Funeral Home in Blaine, Minn.

LeRoy L. DuBois, 90, Vadnais Heights, Minn., passed away on April 19, 2013. Russell Fischer, 81, Dairyland, died on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Essentia Health- St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, Minn. Funeral services for Russell Fischer will be held on Friday, April 26, at 11 a.m., at the Brown Funeral Home in Solon Springs, with Pastor Mary Boyarski officiating.  Music will be provided by Darrel Hoeffling. Pearl C. Lindquist, 90, died April 16, 2013, at Burnett Medical Center, Grantsburg. Funeral services were held April 20 at Faith Lutheran Church, Grantsburg, with The Rev. Mark Hendrickson officiating. The pianist was Linda Dahl and special music was provided by niece Virginia Sommerfeld and Joe Lener. Pallbearers were grandsons Tadd and Shawn Solomonson and Aaron Hanson; great-nephews, Kent Lindquist and Kyle Lindquist, Jerry Sommerfeld, Bryan Sommerfeld and Darren Magnuson. Nancy Mae Anderson, 75, of Siren died April 19, 2013. A private family service will be held on Friday, April 26, at 11 a.m.  The Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Siren, was entrusted with arrangements.

Stephen Joseph Perner, 73, died April 18, 2013, at home, in the arms of his wife and son. Funeral services were held Monday, April 22, at Siren Methodist Church.  Edling Funeral Home of Grantsburg was entrusted with arrangements.

George Nels Petersen, 77, died January 3, 2013, at his residence in Canby, Ore. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Wolf Creek Methodist Church at 11 a.m., with Pastor Mike Weaver officiating. Visitation will be before the service at 10 a.m.

Robert W. Lau went peacefully with Jesus on Friday, April 12, 2013, from Christian Community Home of Osceola while enjoying a conversation and a chocolate chip cookie. Maxine Mary Jensen, 74, of Balsam Lake, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, with her loving family at her side.  Maxine was born on Feb. 26, 1939 in Stillwater, Minn., the daughter of Charles Edwin and Hazel Jennie (Brown) Gardner. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 11 a.m. at the Georgetown Lutheran Church.  Pastor Neal Weltzin will officiate. Warren Roger Peterson, 77, of Bartlett, Tenn. died Tuesday April 9, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital Bartlett. He was born in Cumberland, WIs. on Jan. 3, 1936 to the late Charles and Alice Peterson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary Anderson Peterson. Four children: Vicky Peterson of Memphis, Tenn., Kelley Scott of Lexington, NC, Karen (Gary) Taylor of Lakeland, Tenn., and Craig (Yuki) Peterson of Tucson, Ariz. Four grandchildren: Wesley Scott of High Point, NC, Katy Taylor of Millington, Tenn., Daniel Taylor of Lakeland, Tenn., and Ally Peterson of Lexington, NC. Two great-grandchildren: Cloee Booth and Colton Taylor of Millington, Tenn.; sister, Jean Stenberg of Bayfield, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bob and Chub Peterson, all of Wisconsin.

Ruby Ilene Coen Hansen, 85, Luck, (former owner of Ruby's Bakery), died peacefully Saturday, April 6, at the St. Croix Hospital in St. Croix Falls.
