      Burnett County Clerk Wanda Hinrichs is facing a challenger this year, Patrice Bjorklund. The elected position is on the November ballot. The winner will start a four year term of office in January. STORY

    28th Assembly District

      Representative Erik Severson, Republican, is seeking his second term in district 28 which includes the southern half of Burnett County, most of Polk County, and the Somerset area of St. Croix County. His Democratic Party opponent is Adam Bever. The district lines for the 2012 election are very similar to the present lines. Three towns in Burnett County have been moved to other districts and Beaver has been switched for the Clear Lake area in Polk County.

    75th Assembly District

     State Rep. Roger Rivard, Republican, faces Stephen Smith, Democrat, in his run for a second term in district 75. The district includes Roosevelt in Burnett County, McKinley, Johnstown, and the town and village of Clear Lake in Polk County, all of Barron County, and small parts of St. Croix and  Dunn counties.

    10th Senate District

     Assembly districts 73 and 75 are parts of the huge senate district 10 represented by Senator Bob Jauch. Jauch, a Democrat, is in the middle of his seventh term and is not up for election until 2014. The district runs from Barron County north to Superior, heads east to Hurley and the Michigan border and south to Price County.

    7th Congressional District

    First-term Congressman Sean Duffy (R) is being challenged by former newscaster and state senator Pat Kreitlow (D) of Chippewa Falls.  The 7th District encompasses the north half of Wisconsin.

    U.S. Senate

     A former Wisconsin governor is facing off against a current member of Congress are the forerunners in the race to fill the seat being vacated by longtime U.S. Senator Herb Kohl, who decided to not seek re-election. Republican Tommy Thompson and Democrat Tammy Baldwin are joined on the ballot by Libertarian Joseph Kexel and IDEA party candidate Nimrod Y.U. Allen III.
