POLK/BURNETT COUNTIES - A variety of day trips by bus are being offered by Community Education.
Luck Community Ed. has scheduled a trip to Plymouth Playhouse on Friday, April 26 for a 1:00 pm performance of “Ring of Fire: The Life and Music of Johnny Cash”.
Through words and music, “Ring of Fire” honors and brings to life a remarkable musical legend – Johnny Cash. Full of love and emotion, humor and empathy, this show pays tribute to the legendary Man in Black with dance, comedy, stories, tragedy, and love. From the opening moment of the show, you are immediately drawn into the spirit of Johnny Cash’s homespun, gritty, and inspiring music. Although Cash is never impersonated, Ring of Fire’s train ride takes us on a musical journey through the life, times and tunes of the legend that is… Johnny Cash. Songs will include:
I Walk the Line If I Were a Carpenter Man in Black Daddy Sang Bass
Jackson Going to Memphis A Boy Named Sue Folsom Prison Blues Hey Porter
I’ve Been Everywhere Sunday Morning Coming Down Ring of Fire Why Me, Lord?

“RING OF FIRE is, simply put, two hours of great country music and a loving tribute to a man who wrote and performed some of the best that’s ever been recorded. It is the music of Johnny Cash, and for the Man in Black fans, it doesn’t get any better than that.” - Steven Stanley, LAstageScene.com

May - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat –
Wednesday May 15th; With a crash of drums and a flash of light, Joseph returns to Chanhassen. I have seen this show and it is one of the best ever! The work is a secular version of the powerful and beloved historical story of Joseph, favorite son of Jacob, who is given a splendid coat of many colors. His jealous brothers throw him in a pit, sell him to slave traders bound for Egypt, and trick Jacob into believing Joseph has been killed by wild animals. Through a series of ordained circumstances including his uncanny gift to interpret dreams, Joseph is eventually brought into the house of the great Pharoah, where he is elevated to ruler status. Through his dreams, Joseph leads the people of Egypt into a food store-housing plan to see them through a long and terrible famine, which eventually brings Joseph and his brothers face-to-face after a 25-year separation. The musical telling of this familiar story, JOSEPH includes twenty-two major production numbers filled with colorful costuming, creative staging, upbeat music and exuberant choreography. I guarantee that you will leave this show uplifted and singing the tunes for weeks after. We will leave Grantsburg at 9:00 am and return about 5:30 or 6:00 pm. Cost $79.00 - includes Coach bus, delicious meal, and show: Paid reservations needed by April 19th. Don’t wait, don’t even hesitate, sign up for this show very soon!
