Clear Lake school counselor dies in lawn mower accident
BARRON- A 34-year old Prairie Farm man died Saturday afternoon, May 24, when a “zero turn” riding lawn mower rolled on top of him and his young son, who was riding with him.
Adam Moen was a counselor in the Clear Lake School District.
School district administrator Brad Moen said students and staff are attempting to deal with the loss.
“An accident like this, to a 34-year-old young gentleman that meant a lot to our communities … it’s abrupt, it’s shocking, and that’s what we’re dealing with.”
Moen also served as varsity baseball coach and filled numerous other roles. Extra counselors were brought to the school to help students and staff cope with the loss. Message boards were left outside Moen’s office for students to leave messages on them, which will be given to his family.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, from United Lutheran Church, 120 River Ave. N., Prairie Farm, with Pastor Shelly Schultz officiating and interment at Vanceburg Cemetery, Prairie Farm.
