BURNETT COUNTY - Burnett County District Attorney William Norine has filed felony child neglect charges against the parents of Reena Mae Williams, the three-year-old girl who wandered from her home in Danbury and drowned in a nearby canal. An arrest warrant was expected to be issued today (Friday, Sept. 21), for Jenna Danish and Thomas Williams Jr., who face up to 25 years in prison each if found guilty of the charges. Sheriff Dean Roland said he was unsure if arrests had been made as of Friday at 4 p.m. It was unclear as to whether the couple were still living in the area. Information was forwarded to the DA earlier this week by Sheriff Roland regarding the circumstances surrounding Reena’s death on Aug. 15. Neighbors told authorities they had seen Reena wandering blocks from her home, barefoot, hours before she went missing. The girl had allegedly been seen wandering alone in the neighborhood on previous occasions. More information on the charges will be published as they become available. The DA's office was expected to issue a press release, Roland said.
